ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has revealed a toe injury is behind his decision not to start Theo Walcott against Paris Saint Germain.

The England winger played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Saturday.

But he was absent from full training yesterday with Wenger insisting he would be fit to play.

However Walcott was left out of the starting XI and named on the bench.

Ahead of the match, Wenger confirmed Walcott was struggling with a foot problem.

"Walcott has a slight problem with his toe," Wenger told BT Sport.

"I have plenty of players who are fresh and available and need games.

"So i try to rotate a little bit and keep the balance depending upon the opposition and that’s why I brought Giroud back in."
