Bournemouth ace Jack Wilshere speaks out on prospect of Arsenal return

BOURNEMOUTH ace Jack Wilshere has admitted he is not thinking about returning to Arsenal.

Wilshere: I'm a Bournemouth player, so I want Bournemouth to win

Wilshere is spending the season on loan at Bournemouth after arriving from Arsenal on transfer deadline day.

He has spent the last few years dogged by injuries but has got his mojo back under Cherries boss Eddie Howe.

And Wilshere, who watched his parent club beat his current team 3-1 last weekend, has admitted he is only focused on helping Bournemouth.

"At the moment, my head is in Bournemouth," he told Sky Sports

"I know as much as everyone else knows.

"I read what the boss at Arsenal said and at the moment I'm focused on performing for Bournemouth and putting myself in a position where Arsenal want to offer me a new contract and I'm in a strong position at the end of the season.

"At the moment, I'm taking each game as it comes, working hard and I'm looking forward to the next six or seven months here at Bournemouth.

"We'll see what happens after that."

The England midfielder also revealed he was nervous about his sudden move to Dean Court.

Wilshere has been at Arsenal since the age of nine and, barring a short loan spell with Bolton in 2010, has spent his entire career in north London.

"It's like your first day of school," the 24-year-old added.

"I first came down here in the evening and signed and trained on the next day and I remember being in the hotel thinking it had been six or seven years since I had to do something like this.

"It was a strange feeling, but the lads here have been brilliant. They have welcomed me in, all been kind and the team here is special because of the team spirit.

"The manager is like that as well. He wouldn't bring in someone who wouldn't fit in with the spirit of the team."
