Jose Mourinho on injuries: Man United boss provides double update

JOSE MOURINHO is not optimistic about the injuries sustained by Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Manchester United.

Ibrahimovic suffers horrific looking injury against Anderlecht

Both stars were withdrawn during United’s crucial Europa League triumph over Anderlecht tonight.

The Red Devils had to go to extra-time but eventually saw off their Belgian opponents 2-1 on the night (3-2 on aggregate).

However, centre-half Rojo was stretchered off during the first half with a knee problem after making two tackles.

And top goalscorer Ibrahimovic also damaged his knee, landing awkwardly.

He was substituted after 90 minutes, but Marcus Rashford saved the day scoring United’s second.

Looking ahead though on Rojo and Ibrahimovic, Mourinho is worried they could be sidelined over the run-in.

"I dont think the are easy injuries but I prefer to wait until all the tests are done and then speak,” Mourinho told BT Sport.

The news is fairly negative I think

“I can't do that because I am a manager not a doctor.

"But the news is fairly negative I think."

United travel to Burnley on Sunday (2.15pm), leaving Rojo and Ibrahimovic almost certain not to feature.
