Jose Mourinho: Man Utd star told me this in Anderlecht game… it earns my trust

LUKE SHAW delighted Jose Mourinho by showing his commitment in Manchester United’s Europa League triumph last night.

Mourinho says Shaw has a future but needs to mature fast

The Red Devils were taken to extra-time in their quarter-final second leg with Anderlecht at Old Trafford.

But Marcus Rashford crucially scored the winner to give United a 2-1 victory (3-2 on aggregate).

Mourinho’s men were made to suffer though as centre-back Marcos Rojo and top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic sustained knee injuries.

United had to use all three substitutes by 90 minutes, meaning left-back Luke Shaw faced a full 120 minutes of action.

Luke Shaw was suffering with cramp as he played a full 120 minutes for Manchester United last night

"After 90 minutes, before I know that I have to change Zlatan, he had cramp, I had Ashley Young ready to come on, and he told me I'm going to play for 30 minutes with cramps, no problem.

"He said if you need to make a change in another position I am ready for it.

"These kind of things make me trust the players.”

With Manchester United’s defensive injury list growing, Shaw could now earn himself a run of games as the season draws to a close.
