Arsenal have received no offers for Mesut Ozil, says Arsene Wenger

has been locked in talks with Arsenal over a new contract for months but is yet to reach an agreement.

The Germany international’s reluctance to pen a new deal has led to suggestions he will leave the Emirates in the summer.

However, has claimed the Gunners have not received any offers for the 28-year-old.

“We have not had any offers or any official enquiries,” Wenger said.

“Before we spend big money we analyse all the aspects of our contract commitments because we don’t only have Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to extend.

“We have many others with agreements which will expire next year and we have to make sure we have the resources available to keep all the players who are needed to be successful in the future.”

Website FootballLondon claimed this week contract talks have been delayed due to Arsenal transfer chief Dick Law - not because Ozil wants to leave the club.

The report says the midfielder’s representatives have asked to negotiate with Josh Kroenke, the son of the club owner Stan, in an attempt to speed things along.

Ozil’s current deal with the Gunners runs until June 2018.
