Perez joined Arsenal last summer for £17million but struggled for game time in his first season at the Gunners, starting just three matches in the Premier League and Champions League.

And according to Spanish outlet AS, Sevilla are ready to have another go at trying to sign Perez this summer.

The La Liga outfit were reportedly close to signing the uncapped Spaniard last summer before he opted for a move to England.

Sevilla can offer Perez Champions League football next season, something Arsenal can't after they finished fifth in the Premier League.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger suggested earlier this month that Perez could leave the club this summer as he cannot promise him first-team football.

"If I am the manager I would love to keep him, but we have to sit down and see if he has a realistic chance to play," Wenger said.

"He is a top-quality striker but I could not give him the games he wants and deserves, I confess that. I feel a bit sorry for him."

While Perez recently admitted he has offers to leave Arsenal this summer and could make a return to Deportivo La Coruna.

The 28-year-old said on his future: "I would like to prove that I've got the quality to win things with Arsenal.

"But if the moment comes when I can't do that any more, or if they decide to transfer me, there is always the opportunity to go back to Depor.

"I know there are other clubs who want to sign me and my intention is to play in the Champions League. But in the summer we will see if Depor is still an option."
