Manchester City are among the frontrunners for Sanchez's signature with the player's future at Arsenal beyond this summer currently uncertain.

The Chile international bagged 30 goals across all competitions as the Gunners won the FA Cup last term.

However, their failure to secure Champions League football for next season means Europe's elite are interested in snapping him up.

Clubs such as City and Chelsea are boosted with the knowledge that Sanchez's contract expires next summer.

And The Mirror say that Pep Guardiola's City side are confident they will get a deal done.

Arsenal are determined to keep hold of their star asset with Wenger, speaking in April, saying he wanted to keep the player.

"If he doesn’t sign a new deal, will I make him stay? Yes,” Wenger said.

“Would I rather keep him than sell him to a Premier League rival? Yes.

"I don’t think you would sell him to any Premier League club, that is for sure.

"Why not? The question is more why would you sell him to another Premier League club? You want to be as strong as you can be and not strengthen the other teams."

But City will launch an official bid for Sanchez after his involvement at the Confederations Cup comes to an end.

Etihad chiefs think they will snap him up despite Wenger wanting to keep hold of him.

Guardiola has managed Sanchez before when he was at Barcelona, and together they helped the Catalan giants win La Liga.
