Arsenal reject £6.2m Jack Wilshere offer from Sampdoria, £8.8m wanted - Gianluca Di Marzio

ARSENAL have rejected a £6.2million offer from Sampdoria for Jack Wilshere, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Arsenal reveal NEW intriguing black and pink kit

Wilshere, 25, has now entered the final 12 months of his contract at Arsenal after returning from a season-long loan spell at Bournemouth.

He joined the Cherries in search of regular game time after falling down the pecking order at the Emirates.

The England international made 29 Premier League appearances, but his progress was scuppered by a fracture leg he suffered in April.

Wilshere has since retuned to Arsenal, but his future at the club remains unclear.

Italian side Sampdoria are keen to swoop with the club apparently making contact with last week about a possible move.

But Di Marzio claims the Serie A side have now stepped up their pursuit of Wilshere.

It is said Sampdoria have tabled a £6.2million offer as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season.

But Arsenal have supposedly rejected their offer as they want £8.8m for his services.

The report adds Sampdoria could muster up the funds to meet their asking price.

However, this will hinge on Patrik Schick's proposed transfer to Juventus, which could be completed today.

Despite rumours linking Wilshere with a move away from Arsenal, Wenger is confident he will stay for the forthcoming season - but he will have to fight for his place.

“When he returns, he won’t be far from practising with the team," Wenger said.

“He has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team.”

He added: “I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes."
