Arsenal not backing down in Kylian Mbappe pursuit: Arsene Wenger key to deal

ARSENAL have not given up on their pursuit of Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

Kylian Mbappé TRICKS fans with 'big announcement'

The teenage sensation has made all the headlines in the last few months following an impressive debut campaign with the Ligue 1 champions.

Widespread reports claim Real Madrid are closing in on a move for the 18-year-old after agreeing a staggering £161million deal.

But French publication L'Equipe suggest the Gunners still have a chance in signing him with Arsene Wenger a key part of any potential transfer.

They state that of all the managers Mbappe has spoken with this summer he has the best relationship with Wenger.

Kylian Mbappe's future at Monaco remains uncertain

Mbappe is a long-term admirer of the French boss and Wenger is also a big fan of his talent having monitored him in the past.

L'Equipe add the north London outfit do have the financial capability to rival the likes of Madrid and Manchester City.

Arsenal have already splashed £52m on Alexandre Lacazette and would be willing to smash the world transfer record fee to land Mbappe.

However, Arsenal are unable to offer Mbappe Champions League football next term and that could lead to the France international choosing a move elsewhere.

Mbappe still has two years left to run on his current contract with Monaco.

And while Arsenal continue to monitor Mbappe's situation, they are also set to return with a third offer for his team-mate Thomas Lemar.

The Gunners are set to table an offer in the region of £50m to tempt the French outfit into selling, even though they insist the midfielder is not for sale.
