Thomas Lemar: Arsenal on brink of £45m signing, he wants deal sorted today

ARSENAL are reportedly closing in on the signing of Monaco star Thomas Lemar.

Target Thomas Lemar's stunning Monaco highlight reel

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Lemar this summer after his stunning campaign to help Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season.

The France international bagged 14 goals and provided 17 assists across all competitions, also helping his side reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Arsenal are said to have already had two bids turned down for Lemar, with Monaco reportedly slapping an £80million price tag on the 21-year-old to deter the Gunners' interest.

But according to The Sun, Arsenal have made a breakthrough in negotiations with Monaco and are now closing in on a £45m deal.

The report claims Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the Frenchman after he told Monaco to allow him to move to the Emirates.

The former Caen man is said to want to complete his move before Monaco face Paris-Saint Germain in Morocco tomorrow in the Trophee des champions.

The Gunners were previously hoping to sign Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez but were put off by the Foxes £50m valuation of the Algerian.

And now Lemar is expected to become the third arrival at the north London club this summer, following compatriot Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac.

Monaco were desperate to keep hold of their title-winning squad this summer but have lost a host of stars to the Premier League.

Winger Bernado Silva and left-back Benjamin Mendy both joined Manchester City, while Tiemoue Bakayoko moved to English champions Chelsea.
