Sanches boost

18.20: AC Milan's loan deal for Renato Sanches has fallen through, according to reports in Italy.

Tuttosport claim Milan's negotiations with Bayern Munich have broken down over a first-refusal clause.

The report says the Serie A club had settled on a £9m loan fee but were keen to include a clause allowing them to buy Sanches for £36m.

But Bayern have no interest in selling and have rejected the offer, reopening the possibility of a deal with Chelsea.

Matic joins United

17.00 Manchester United have confirmed Nemanja Matic has signed a three-year deal.

"I am delighted to have joined Manchester United. To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down," Matic said.

"I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support. I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them.

"This is a very exciting time for the club and I am looking forward to playing my part in creating more history for this great club."

Morata's the real deal

15.35: Thibaut Courtois has claimed Chelsea new boy Alvaro Morata is already proving his worth and has tipped the £60m man for big things at Stamford Bridge.

"You can see he knows how to score," Courtois said.

"He has a lot of technique, he can keep the ball.

"His ability to, under pressure, handle the ball well is very important in the game we play."

Sandro deal isn't happening

13:45: Chelsea have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Sandro this summer as Antonio Conte looks to provide competition for Marcos Alonso on the left flank.

The Premier League champions were said to be close to bringing the Brazil international to Stamford Bridge earlier this summer for £60million.

But Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who signed Sandro in 2015, insists the 26-year-old is going nowhere.

“Alex Sandro is a Juve player,” Allegri said during his side's pre-season tour of the United States “He is sensational and will not leave.”

Conte will now be forced to turn his attention elsewhere, with Porto left-back Alex Telles also said to be on the Italian's shortlist.

Conte wants more from Morata

13:15: Antonio Conte has warned Alvaro Morata to prepare himself quickly for Chelsea's Community Shield showdown against Arsenal.

He told the Evening Standard: "Alvaro still needs to improve. He needs to improve his physical condition and understand our idea of football.

“But for sure he has a great will to train, to try to improve quickly. There are only six days before our first official game against Arsenal in the Community Shield and then we start our League against Burnley on August 12.

“I am particularly looking for him to improve his movement when we have the ball. He has only been with us for a few days whereas the other players know very well our idea of football."

Costa's not happy with Atleti

12:30: Diego Costa is losing patience with Atletico Madrid, reports claim.

Antonio Conte has made it clear that Costa, 28, is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish talisman was expected to return to Atletico Madrid, are under a strict transfer ban until January 2018, but Diego Simeone's side still haven't launch a bid.

Football Espana now claim Costa is annoyed with their lack of activity and will consider other clubs if they don't step up their pursuit.

Kane responds to Conte praise

11:30: Harry Kane has responded to praise from Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

The Italian tactician described Kane as one of the best strikers in world football and admitted he would love to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Asked about Conte's comments, Kane responded: "Obviously it’s kind words, but I’m focused on my team now and what my manager thinks.

"I'm out here concentrating on what I need to do, and being fit for the new season."

Blues want Dembele…

10:30: Chelsea are reportedly putting plans in place to sign Celtic wonderkid Karamoko Dembele.

The Sun say Chelsea have already put wheels in motion regarding a move.

The youngster is just 14, but played for Celtic’s Under-20 team aged just 13.

Conte has been left awestruck by his ability and is determined to land the teenager ahead of rivals from both home and abroad.

Manchester City and Arsenal have both been linked with moves for him in the past.

Chelsea agree Sanches deal

10:00: Chelsea have agreed a deal for Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches, reports claim.

Spanish publication Fichajes claim Antonio Conte's side have secured a loan agreement with Bayern for Sanches, and will announce the deal shortly.

Fichajes cite Portuguese newspaper A Bola as saying the deal is virtually completed for Sanches, who rejected AC Milan in favour of the Premier League.

It's believed Manchester United's imminent signing of Nemanja Matic has accelerated Chelsea's approach.

Arsenal can cope without Alexis - Courtois

09:00: Arsenal will survive without Alexis Sanchez, according to Chelsea goalkeeper thibaut Courtois.

The Gunners are facing the prospect of losing Sanchez, who could submit a transfer request to force through a move to Manchester City.

But Courtois thinks Arsene Wenger's side have enough quality in their ranks.

He said: "Alexis is a guy with a lot of quality. If you see all the games from last season there is a lot of danger coming from him.

"He has a very strong shot, he is quick. He has the technique. He is important for them but Arsenal have a lot of players with quality.

"So they will miss him but I think they have a lot of players with that quality to replace him. I think they have bought a good new striker in Lacazette."

Ake: Why I left Chelsea

08:00: Nathan Ake has blasted Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for labelling young players at Stamford Bridge “impatient”.

Ake, 22, left the club this summer to join Bournemouth in a club-record £20million deal after spending six months on loan with the Cherries last season.

The Dutch international insists he had to make the move in order to become a Premier League regular. Ake said: “It is a short career but I’m 22 now and I feel like I have had a good experience playing games and you just want to continue doing that.

“I understand what he said but I think we also know that Chelsea is a big club and for myself it was going to be difficult to come in and play straight away.

“The decision on to come here was to be able to play more games which is important for me and that is why I came here."
