MANCHESTER UNITED have joined the race to sign Manchester City's Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

The 17-year-old is attracting interest from a host of top clubs after starring for City's youth teams last season.

City are keen to keep hold of the 17-year-old but he is yet to sign a new deal with the club.

The Sun claimed earlier this month City had offered him a three-year deal worth £30,000 a week but he is reluctant to commit his future to Pep Guardiola's side.

And United are now looking to take advantage of the situation with the Manchester Evening News claiming the Red Devils are 'pushing hard' to sign him.

But Arsenal are thought to be frontrunners to sign the highly-rated midfielder.

Sancho wants out of the Etihad as he hopes to find a clearer pathway to first-team football than he has so far been unable to achieve at City.

Sancho was also excluded from City's pre-season tour of the US after he refused to put pen to paper on their contract offer.

It now seems there is no way back for the teenager and Sancho looks set to walk away from the Etihad when his scholarship deal expires and City would then be due compensation unless they can agree a fee.

Despite being only 17, the winger has featured for City's Under-18s and Under-21s in recent seasons and played a key part with the England Under-17s at the Euros in May when they finished as runners-up.

Sancho was named the best player of the tournament, picking up the Golden Player award.
