Wenger lauds summer signings

22:00: Arsene Wenger has lauded summer signings Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac for their displays against Chelsea.

"Lacazette is getting stronger every week and today is the first time you see that physically he is ready.

"He still needs to adapt to the intensity of the game but overall in the first half he had some very interesting moments and I believe, after what we saw today, he will become stronger and stronger.

"[Kolasinac] came on very well. He had a very interesting performance last week and I had a hesitation to play him from the start but when he came he was outstanding.

"His physicality will make it easier for him to adapt to the Premier League. You have players who are pumped up in the gym and players who are born strong - he is the second.

"His power will play a part but it's not the only thing. We took him because of his attitude. You need a combination of talent and attitude and he looks to me as if he has both."

Sanchez fear

18:15: Has Alexis Sanchez waved goodbye to Arsenal?

The Chilean wasn't part of Arsenal's match day squad for their win over Chelsea in the Community Shield this afternoon.

But he joined in with the celebrations on the pitch at full-time.

And after congratulating his team-mates Sanchez took some time to wave to his Arsenal fans.

As expected, fans and supporters on Twitter speculated the forward could have been saying farewell to his supporters.

Wenger on deals

13:57: Arsene Wenger says Chelsea’s have done well keeping their squad together this summer.

Discussing the Blues ahead of their Community Shield clash with Arsenal, Wenger said: "I would say that Chelsea look like they have kept the basis of 95% of their squad.

“They have added Tiemoue Bakayoko, who is a very strong player, a strong ball-winner, similar to Nemanja Matic, maybe less of a distance runner but more of an impact player - but certainly they will fight for the championship again.

"They have replaced Costa with Morata. Morata is maybe less of a goalscorer than Costa, but he can score and provide as well."

Nice's Seri replacement

13:10: Nice are closing in on a deal for Wesley Sneijder as a replacement for Arsenal target Jean Seri.

The Ligue 1 club are aware of Arsenal’s interest in Seri.

The midfielder is available for £35m.

And Nice are preparing to lose their star player by approaching Sneijder.

Sanchez to City still on?

12:50: Manchester City are still hopeful Alexis Sanchez will join from Arsenal before the end of the transfer window.

Pep Guardiola wants another top forward at the Etihad and a reunion with Sanchez is high on his agenda.

Arsene Wenger has remained adamant Arsenal will not sell the Chile international, especially to a Premier League rival.

But the Daily Star say City believe Sanchez wants to move to the Etihad, with City now hopeful the Gunners will eventually decide to cash in.

Valencia confirm Gabriel interest

11:56: Valencia manager Marcelino believes he can land one of three defenders this summer - including Arsenal’s Gabriel.

Valencia are interested in Jeison Murillo, Gabriel and Ivan Marcano.

And Marcelino is hopeful of capturing the trio before the summer is out.

“I think they’re possible,” Marcelino is quoted as saying by Tuttomercatoweb.

“We’re talking about important players who already know our League. They speak Spanish, and that’s important, so their adaptation would be very quick.”

Wilshere future undecided

09:06: Arsene Wenger admits he is still undecided on the future of midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has been linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer.

"The decision has not been completely made, but I want him to play somewhere," he said. "We have to decide that later.

"First I wanted him to come back from his fracture. It’s the first week back from full training. We need to sit down and see where we go.

"He has the talent to be a regular, but he has to come back to competition in a consistent way."

Welbeck to Everton?

08:40: Everton have set their sights on Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck should they fail to sign his Gunners’ team-mate Olivier Giroud, according to The Mirror.

Ronald Koeman is in the market for a new striker this summer after selling last season’s top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United for £75million.

Giroud is said to be Everton’s priority target, but should the Frenchman decide to stay at Arsenal the Toffees will then turn their attention to Welbeck.

The England international would reportedly command a £30m fee.

Arsenal’s Lemar talks ongoing

08:00 Arsenal remain locked in talks with Monaco over a deal for winger Thomas Lemar, according to Sky Sports reporter Aiden Magee.

Speaking on Sky’s Transfer Centre, Magee said: "We are told discussions are ongoing over the future of this man - attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar.

"Arsenal have already had two bids of £30m and £40m rejected by Monaco.

“The Ligue 1 side are thought to be holding out for £50m.

"Head coach Leonardo Jardim, meanwhile, has told reporters that he can't guarantee they'll keep all their important players."

Second bid for Coman

07:30: Arsenal are reportedly considering a second move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman after having their initial approach knocked back by the Bundesliga club.

French outlet TF1 claim the Gunners have not ruled out making another offer to Bayern, while Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is also said to be keeping an eye on his former player.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is said to be a long term admirers of the France international, having missed out on signing him in 2014 when he joined Juventus.
