Thomas Lemar to Arsenal: Monaco more willing to sell after signing winger - Dharmesh Sheth

MONACO are now more willing to sell Arsenal target Thomas Lemar than they were earlier this summer.

Thomas Lemar skies shot and takes shockingly bad free-kick

Lemar has been on Arsenal's radar for the majority of the current transfer window following the arrivals of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners have seen several bids for the Frenchman rebuffed by last season's Ligue 1 champions.

Last week Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim admitted Lemar could leave the club despite previously stating he was not for sale.

The signing of winger Rachid Ghezzal today on a free transfer from Lyon adds further to suggestions Lemar is on his way out of the club.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth says Arsenal have gone quiet on a potential move for the 21-year-old but thinks a deal is not dead yet.

"What of Arsenal's hopes of signing Thomas Lemar," Sheth said on Sky Sports News.

"We are told today they are now not in active talks with Monaco over the player. But it should be noted they have not entirely ended their interest.

Monaco are now more willing to sell Arsenal target Thomas Lemar

"Monaco's stance has changed from their vice president saying he was not for sale two weeks ago, to their coach not guaranteeing he would be at the club come the end of the window.

"Barcelona are also thought to be keen. Intriguingly Monaco have just signed Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal on a five-year contract.

"Ghezzal was a free agent following his release from Lyon.

"Perhaps we haven't heard the last of Thomas Lemar to Arsenal in this transfer window."

Lemar has scored 14 Ligue 1 goals for Monaco since joining from Caen in 2015.
