Gareth Bale is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid and wants to leave

Gareth Bale has been tipped to leave Real Madrid this summer amid reports he is unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Jose Mourinho has admitted if the 28-year-old is unsettled and becomes available he would welcome him to Manchester United with open arms.

And pundit Danny Mills thinks the Wales international would be a fantastic addition to the Red Devils' squad playing alongside Romelu Lukaku.

"Clearly Gareth Bale is a fantastic talent," Mills told Sky Sports.

Jose Mourinho has admitted he would snap up Gareth Bale

"He has struggled in the past with injuries but if he was available there would be several clubs around the world interested.

"I think when I look at Manchester United now in Mourinho's second season, he has sorted out the spine of the team.

"He's got Romelu Lukaku - their target man, their focus point, their Didier Drogba.

"And to have Bale's pace, power and goalscoring ability alongside Luakau on either flank I think would be a magnificent signing."

Speaking yesterday about Bale ahead of United's Super Cup clash with Real tonight (7.45pm), Mourinho admitted he would be interested.

"If he is in the plans of the coach and the club and it is in his own plans and ambitions to stay there, then I won't even think about it," he said.

"If he is not in the club's plans and it is true that a player like Bale is at the departure gate, I will try to be there waiting for him at the other side."

Bale is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2022 having penned a new deal last October.
