Coutinho to Barcelona not agreed, Liverpool yet to contact West Ham for Lanzini - Solhekol

BARCELONA are reportedly no closer to agreeing a deal with Liverpool for playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona are said to have been in talks with Liverpool about Coutinho replacing Neymar, who left for Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month in a £200million deal.

Reports surfaced last night that Barca have agreed a £109m deal with Liverpool, but Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol insists those rumours are wide of the mark.

Liverpool have no interest in selling Coutinho, who signed a new five-year contract last season, but the 25-year-old Brazilian is said to be keen on a move to the Nou Camp.

"Barcelona are still looking for a replacement for Neymar, they want Coutinho but Liverpool are in a very strong position on this," Solhekol told Sky Sports.

"He has five years left on his contract and he is not for sale.

"There have been reports overnight that a deal has already been agreed, but we have been told those reports are inaccurate.

"We have also been told Coutinho's attitude has been first class, even though he would like to move to Barcelona."

Liverpool have been linked with a move for West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini should they lose Coutinho the Barcelona.

But Solhekol claims the Reds are yet to make contact with the Hammers, who have no intention of letting the Argentinian leave the London Stadium.

"Now if [Coutinho] was to go, one name mentioned is Manuel Lanzini at West Ham," Solhekol added.

"He had a very impressive season as a No 10 after Dimitri Payet left in January.

"Liverpool have been linked with him, but at the moment there has been no contact with West Ham.

"And the message from West Ham is loud and clear - Lanzini is not for sale."
