Veron meanwhile, struggled to make the desired impact during his time at Old Trafford.
The Argentine found it difficult adjusting to the change of tempo in the Premier League.
And Neville thinks Pogba showed shades of Veron with his performances last season.
“Every time we watched Pogba last season it was, 'Where do you play him?' Now there is no excuse," Neville said on Sky Sports.
"He has somebody in there that will fill the holes when he vacates them, he has licence to go wherever he wants and he [Matic] will provide that stability for the back four.
