Man Utd and Chelsea odds slashed to sign Tottenham star Danny Rose after transfer hint

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have seen their odds slashed by the bookies to sign Tottenham star Danny Rose.

Tim Sherwood: Spurs cannot lose Danny Rose

Rose has established himself as one of the top left-backs in the Premier League since Mauricio Pochettino took charge at Tottenham in 2014.

The England international hinted he could leave Tottenham this summer in search of silverware and a pay rise, with Manchester United and Chelsea said to be interested.

And Bookmakers Betfair have responded by slashing United’s odds from 11/2 to 11/8 to sign the 27-year-old before the window shuts.

Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho is said to be in the market for a new left-back this summer as he continues to have doubts over Luke Shaw.

While Chelsea’s odds to sign Rose have been cut from 11/2 to 5/1, with Blues manager Antonio Conte desperate to add another wing-back to his squad.

Rose is still out of action after undergoing surgery on a knee injury towards the end of last season.

The former Leeds United youngster today suggested that he would be open to leaving Tottenham to earn more money elsewhere and to win silverware.

He told The Sun: “At my age, and having missed six months with injury, I have been thinking about this quite a lot.

“I am reaching my peak and have probably only got one big contract left in me.

“Time is running out and I do want to win trophies. I don’t want to play football for 15 years and not have one trophy or one medal.

“Sorry, that’s not what I am about. I wouldn’t be happy with that. I want to win something.”
