Rio Ferdinand gives Premier League top four predictions: Man Utd to win title

RIO FERDINAND has weighed in with his views on who will triumph in the Premier League this season - and it’s good news for Manchester United.

Gerrard, Lineker and Lampard give PL title predictions

Chelsea ran away with the title last season but many pundits believe the champions could struggle this season and it is likely be a two-horse race between United and Manchester City.

And Ferdinand is no different.

The former United defender believes Mourinho will deliver the title in his second season in charge and the arrivals of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic will prove vital in his quest for glory.

As for Chelsea, he doesn’t feel Antonio Conte’s side have enough squad depth - something the Italian has already voiced his concerns about before the season begins.

Liverpool and Spurs are the teams Ferdinand reckons will miss out on Champions League football with the latter’s season at Wembley possibly working against them.

“4. Arsenal (don't often miss out & Wenger will succeed in top 4)

“Sorry Spurs fans... seems some unhappiness in the camp right now & being at Wembley will be tough).”

However, one Spurs player that will thrive at Wembley this season will be Harry Kane, Ferdinand says.

Kane has picked up the Golden Boot in his last two seasons but faces strong competition from United striker Lukaku.

“Golden Boot - @harrykane & @rlukaku9 (25 Goals Each),” Ferdinand added.
