Wilshere looks on his way out of Arsenal this summer after Arsene Wenger left the midfielder out of the squad that beat Leicester 4-3 on Friday.

The England international has been linked with a move to newly-promoted Newcastle, whose manager Rafa Benitez is desperate for new recruits.

And followings reports Newcastle are set to step up their interest, bookmakers Betfair have slashed their odds of signing Wilshere from 7/1 to 3/1.

Premier League rivals West Ham are also said to be interested in landing the 25-year-old, with Betfair pricing the Hammers as evens favourites for his signature.

Chelsea confident of signing OX

13:00: Chelsea are growing increasingly confident they will sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal for around £35million.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is in the last year of his contract at Arsenal and is considering his future.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants Oxlade-Chamberlain as one of four more signings at Stamford Bridge.

And according to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea have not yet agreed a fee with Arsenal but negotiations are ongoing and the Blues have received enough encouragement to believe a deal is possible.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out selling Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud before the 11pm deadline on August 31 but has given no guarantees over Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Wenger would prefer to keep the versatile 23-year-old, last week describing him as having the potential to become a “very great player”.

“I don’t see many changes in the title race – Chelsea, City, Spurs, Liverpool and us.”

Seaman calls for another signing

11:30: David Seaman wants Arsenal to sign one or two new players before the transfer window shuts.

The Gunners legend admits he has no idea which individual players that his old boss Arsene Wenger is targeting.

Speaking exclusively to Express Sport, Seaman said: "I've no idea who is coming in. There's so much speculation it's so hard to keep up with it.

"But if they can add players like [Thomas Lemar], great.

"Hopefully they will do more business. Hopefully they can get one or two because it'll be a boost for the squad as well.”

Giroud is wasted on the bench - Redknapp

10:30: Olivier Giroud’s talents will go to waste if he is kept on the bench at Arsenal, according to Jamie Redknapp.

"It was interesting to see Olivier [Giroud] look down his nose at suggestions he is a supersub after his winner for Arsenal," Redknapp told the Daily Mail.

"Giroud is too good to be an impact man from the bench. He is behind Alexandre Lacazette and Alexis Sanchez and Arsene Wenger has a job on his hands to keep all his strikers happy.

It looks like he will have plenty of options to consider, with the Sun claiming Newcastle, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all interested in the 25-year-old.

One more arrival?

05:00: Arsenal could make one further signing before the transfer window closes.

Arsene Wenger has signed two players - Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.

And BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein reckons there could be one more arrival before August 31.

“I don’t think there is a specific name, but there is perhaps scope to bring in one more player."

Newcastle double swoop for Jack Wilshere and Lucas Perez

02:30: Newcastle are exploring a double swoop for Arsenal pair Jack Wilshere and Lucas Perez.

Toon boss Rafa Benitez is getting frustrated in the transfer market and has so far been priced out of deals even though Arsenal are ready to do business.

Arsenal want their money back on misfit Perez who joined from Deportivo La Coruna last summer for £17m and Wilshere has one year left on his current contract.

The Mirror say England midfielder Wilshere has been told he can go but Newcastle could look to do a loan on Perez if Arsenal cannot shift him before the end of the window.

Mavididi praise

23:45: Preston North End’s Callum Robinson says he is excited to play alongside Arsenal loanee Stephy Mavididi.

“He’s quite quick off the mark but if you give him space, he’s got the ability to beat people. He’ll be a threat in behind as well.”

Olivier Giroud to stay

20:45: Olivier Giroud has revealed he will be staying at Arsenal.

“To be honest, there was something in my soul and in my heart which told me to stay,” he said.

“I keep the faith and I still believe I can have an important part to play this season in the club.

“I feel good in my head and also physically. So I am 100 per cent focused on the club project.”

Welbeck to Everton?

15:35: Everton are targeting a shock swoop for Arsenal's Danny Welbeck.

The Sun claim Ronald Koeman is considering the possibility of luring the former Manchester United striker to Goodison Park.

According to the report, Welbeck “could be tempted to join the Goodison Park outfit if he feels his playing time will be restricted” at Arsenal.

Sanchez a disgrace

13.35: Stan Collymore has branded Alexis Sanchez a disgrace for his desire to leave Arsenal.

Sanchez has 12 months left on his contract and looks set to move for free next summer.

And Collymore wrote in his Sunday People column: “Some Arsenal supporters seem happy to say, 'Alexis Sanchez is a great guy, he's a model pro' but I am sorry, he is not.

“He is angling to get out of Arsenal and he is not doing it in a proper way.

“Like Danny Rose, he is a disgrace as well.”

Lemar bid over

11.15: Arsenal have given up in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar.

The Monaco winger was the Gunners number one target for the summer following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.

Arsene Wenger wanted the 21-year-old France star to add another layer to his new-look attack alongside Lacazette.

But the Mail on Sunday claim Wenger has given up on doing a deal this summer and will instead concentrate on trimming his squad during the remainder of the transfer window.

It is said Arsenal are now unlikely to make any further signings to add to Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac who joined earlier in the window.

Walcott needs to leave

09.10: Theo Walcott should be demanding to leave the Arsenal this summer, according to Paul Merson.

“They’re all happy,” Merson said on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.

“You say about keeping them happy, they’re not fussed, you never see any of them wanting to leave.

“If I was Walcott I would be doing what Coutinho is doing now and saying ‘I want a transfer, I’m not playing, I want to play football’.

“But they don’t do they, they just sit there, it’s nice isn’t it’, it’s just lovely. It is, it’s nice, they’re loved."

Alexandre Lacazette explains celebration

04:00: Alexandre Lacazette has explained his subdued goal celebration in the Gunners' 4-3 win over Leicester on Friday.

"I think it was still too early [to celebrate properly when I scored]" he said.

"That’s how it came about but I think it was perhaps too early to celebrate because we didn’t know how the match was going to pan out.

"It was good. Obviously I’m still getting used to the English game, the positives and negatives, shall we say, but I’m learning. It’s interesting."

Gerrard told BT Sport: “Arsenal were calling.

“I’m not sure Barcelona were calling for Suarez at that time.

“There was a bit of speculation in the papers but there was only rumours.

“So I’m not sure Barcelona were there at that time for Suarez.

“The only people I heard that were there for real were Arsenal.

“And they were offering £40m and one pence.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Man Utd?

20:40: Manchester United have been told to “break the bank” and sign Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by former Republic of Ireland defender Kenny Cunningham.

“Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has a year left on his contract at Arsenal, they should be breaking the bank to bring that type of player to the club,” Cunningham told RTE Sport.

“That would improve them in that area of the pitch.”

Mohamed Elneny wants Arsenal stay

18:30: Mohamed Elneny says he considers Arsenal as his ‘home’ amid transfer speculation surrounding his future.

“I consider Arsenal as my home,” said Elneny.

“I give all that I have to play in the starting 11 with the team and I’ll always keep improving to keep my spot.

But his future remains uncertain and now reports in Spain claim he wants to quit London.

Don Balon report that Ozil has asked his agent to contact Barcelona and seal him a move.

Lemar odds change

14.00: Thomas Lemar’s move to Arsenal could be back on bookmaker Unibet pricing him at 3/4 to join before deadline day.

Arsenal had seemed to have lost out on a deal for the 21-year-old but Arsene Wenger has admitted he’s still keen on a deal for an ‘exceptional player’.

And Unibet seem to think Lemar is on course for the Emirates.

They have Arsenal odds-on at 3/4 to sign the Monaco ace.

Barcelona are 13/2 to be Lemar’s next club if he quits Monaco.

Giroud rejected exit

12.15: Arsene Wenger admits he was ready to let Olivier Giroud leave Arsenal this summer.

But the France striker opted to stay and paid Wenger back with the winning goal yesterday.

“I opened the door for him at some stage as I had many strikers and it’s important for him to play but I don’t want him to go,” Wenger said.

“In the end he decided to stay and it was one of the great days of the recent weeks for me.

“I know how important he is not only as a player – he’s a fantastic player – but also in the group he has a big weight.

“It was a relief for me he decided to stay. Giroud in his prime is at the top of his game.”

Kolasinac on debut

11.10: Send Kolasinac admits the Premier League is faster than Germany.

Kolasnic made his Premier League debut in the season opener against Leicester last night.

He came under fire from Gary Neville but generally impressed in the 4-3 win.

“I don’t like to make comparisons [between leagues] but I can say that here the pace of the game is a bit higher,” he told Arsenal.com.

“It really goes from end to end and that’s impressive. It takes time to get used to it, and you need time to do it, but that will come from game to game.”

Mahrez uncertainty

10.30: Craig Shakespeare admits he does’t know if Riyad Mahrez will still be at Leicester next month.

Mahrez has been linked with a summer exit with Arsenal and Roma showing interest.

Mahrez played last night as Leicester were beaten 4-3 in a thrilling season opener at the Emirates.

But asked whether Mahrez would be at the club when the window closes, Shakespeare said: "Who knows?

"I think we have all seen the funny business of the transfer window and we never know what is round the corner. Riyad has been very focused.

"He came out and made a statement which we are all aware of but while he trains and plays and is professional the way he is, he will be considered for selection."

Lacazette the Sanchez replacement?

09.20: Gary Neville thinks Alexandre Lacazette might have been signed as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Lacazette signed for Arsenal this summer as their new record signing.

Sanchez’s future remains uncertain with just 12 months on his contract and Manchester City keen on his signature.

And Neville wonders if Arsene Wenger ha already signed his replacement.

“My first game at Valencia he played for Lyon and he scored, like many strikers did against my Valencia defence!” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“He was a massive threat on the counter attack that night, he’s been a goalscorer, he’s scored 25-30 goals every season in the last four.

“There’s been some real success over the years for Arsenal in bringing French players in, (Olivier) Giroud, (Nicolas) Anelka.

“It will be interesting to see how he beds into the team.

“I suppose for Arsenal the big question is when Sanchez comes back, is he a replacement for Sanchez?

“You can’t see Sanchez being too happy having played central last year, going out wide.

“That will be interesting to see how it evolves over the next few weeks.”

Gary Neville's warning

08.20: Gary Neville doesn’t think Arsenal have done enough this summer to challenge for the title.

Arsenal have made two signings with Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac coming in.

They are still in the market for more and want a deal for Thomas Lemar before deadline day.

And Neville thinks they are a bit short still.

“Maybe not (enough changes) to win the league, which ultimately is what they want to do,” Neville said on Sky Sports.

“I think last season was such a disruptive season, I didn’t like it.

“Obviously the performance dropped below the Arsenal standard but I felt it became too easy for people to stick the knife in to Arsene Wenger, he deserved more than that.

“I don’t think that was right, even my colleague here (Jamie Carragher) said he should have left at the end of the season.

“I genuinely do believe in a season where we saw (Claudio) Ranieri sacked (at Leicester) after winning the league that we should reward and praise when club’s show the ultimate loyalty and sticking with the manager.”

Sanchez to Madrid

07.45: Real Madrid are split on a move for Alexis Sanchez.

The Arsenal ace is keen to leave the Emirate this month but his preference appears to be Manchester City.

But Real Madrid are said to also be in the running with reports in Spain claiming Zinedine Zidane is a fan.

However Florentino Perez is not to sure.

With Kylian Mbappe looking set to join PSG the European champions could miss out on a galactico signing this summer unless a move for Sanchez - or Eden Hazard - is pushed through.

And with the future of Gareth Bale up in the air a new forward play may be needed to keep Barcelona at arm’s length.

Wenger ready to move

07.30: Arsene Wenger remains in the market for an exceptional player - but admits he needs to cut his squad down first.

Arsenal have signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac this summer but remain in the hunt for another forward player with Thomas Lemar their top target.

And Wenger is ready to move for the right man but needs to get some players out the door first.

He said: "We are open to an exceptional player.

"However, just to remind you we have 33 players and they are all good players.

"That's unmanageable so to bring one more player in for the sake of it would be stupid, but if we find an exceptional one, we will do it."

Chelsea and Arsenal fans chant their hatred for Tottenham

Mahrez no go

07.15: Arsene Wenger admits a move for Riyad Mahrez is not close.

Mahrez impressed against Arsenal for Leicester last night in the blockbuster Premier League opener.

Mahrez has been linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer.

But Wenger, speaking before the match last night, said it was dead in the water.

"We were never close... I rate him as a player but we have similar types with [Alex] Iwobi and [Jack] Wilshere back,” he said.

"[With] Ozil [too], we have plenty of the same type of players.”
