La Liga Transfer News: Arsenal’s Ozil wants Barcelona move, De Gea and Bale swap next year

LA LIGA giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are currently aiming to tie up transfer deals with the end of the summer window edging closer. Express Sport brings you the latest news.

Anthony Joshua wishes Mesut Ozil good luck for the season

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil wants to leave the club and has instructed his representatives to broker a move to Barcelona, reports claim.

Ozil is yet to sign a contract extension with the Gunners, despite his current deal expiring in 12 months time.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claims the Germany international still has his heart set on a move away from the Emirates.

Barcelona are named as the club he most wants to join, and his agent has supposedly offered Ozil to Ernesto Valverde’s side.

The La Liga giants have spent the summer pursuing Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho but are now supposedly seriously considering a move for Ozil as an alternative.

Real Madrid have given up on signing David De Gea from Manchester United - for the time being.

Express Sport understands Los Blancos are happy to stick with Keylor Navas, who has blossomed since arriving from Levante after the 2014 World Cup.

But Real are willing to have another crack at luring De Gea away from Old Trafford in 12 months time.

United plan to launch a bid to sign Gareth Bale next year.

And Real will demand De Gea as part of any negotiations for the Wales international.

Real Madrid want Manchester United to include David De Gea in any Gareth Bale negotiations

Diego Costa’s return to Atletico Madrid is in doubt, reports say.

The Chelsea star is currently in exile after Antonio Conte informed him he was surplus to requirements.

But The Sun say his weight may scupper any move back to Diego Simeone’s team.

Costa has reportedly piled on the pounds while taking an extended holiday over in Brazil.

And Chelsea fear that could ruin their chances of offloading him.
