The Gunners legend admits he has no idea which individual players that his old boss Arsene Wenger is targeting.

But he's thrown his weight behind a possible bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar, labelling the possibility of signing him as "great".

Speaking exclusively to Express Sport, Seaman said: "I've no idea who is coming in. There's so much speculation it's so hard to keep up with it.

"But if they can add players like [Thomas Lemar], great.

"Hopefully they will do more business. Hopefully they can get one or two because it'll be a boost for the squad as well.

"In Alexandre Lacazette they've got a guy who looks like a great signing. He's a box player and his goalscoring record speaks for itself.

"He's a guy who takes half chances when he's in the right place at the right time - and hopefully he can carry that on.

"When you look at the Arsenal squad at the moment, when you see what's on the bench, it looks a really strong squad."

Arsenal started their season with a 4-3 win over Leicester City on the opening day of the season and Seaman thinks an unlikely title tilt could be on the cards.

He added: "Players playing with a lot of confidence can achieve great things.

"If they get a good run going, Arsenal's hurdle is getting knocked out the Champions League and that's when we usually have a slump in form.

"Obviously we haven't got that now, we've got the Europa League to deal with, which is a different hurdle in itself, but it's still a European competition.

"Give respect to it but make sure we don't have that slump like we normally do towards the end of the season."
