Man Utd could still land Ivan Perisic despite planned contract talks with Inter - report

MANCHESTER UNITED can still sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports in Italy.

But only if they are prepared to meet the Serie A club's valuation of the winger.

Inter are not prepared to consider a bid less than £48million for Perisic.

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old earlier this summer but their interest has tailed off recently with Inter stating the player is not for sale.

But Calciomercato claim United still have the opportunity to sign Perisic, if they are willing up their offer.

And the report says the three-time European Cup winners are still interested in a deal that sees Anthony Martial go the other way in a loan deal.

But it is also reported Perisic is close to signing a new deal at Inter so United would have to act fast if they want to complete a move.

Jose Mourinho admitted last month he wanted to bring in one more wide player to his United squad before the transfer window.

He toyed with the idea of making a big-money offer for Gareth Bale before the Wales international denied he was thinking of leaving Real Madrid.

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti has publicly stated Perisic is not going anywhere and is confident he will sign a new deal with the club.

"Perisic is determined to stay," Spalletti told Sky in Italy.

"There was a moment [when he considered moving], but then he spoke like a footballer who is interested in doing the right thing for his professionalism and he drew a conclusion."
