Jose Mourinho has been trying to bring the Croatia international to Manchester United throughout this summer.

He has already signed three of his four targets with Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof all joining the club.

However, Perisic still remains with Inter Milan playing hardball over his transfer fee.

The Italian giants apparently value their prized asset at £48million, but have been put off by this and are standing firm with a £39m offer still on the table.

Talks of Perisic signing a new deal at Inter have also surfaced this week.

It is said that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has met with the player's agent, Fali Ramadani to try and push through a deal.
