Toby Alderweireld to Chelsea: How Blues might look with Tottenham defender

Antonio Conte is desperate to bolster his squad this summer as he looks to defend Chelsea's Premier League title. 

Central defence is one position the Italian wants to strengthen before the window shuts on August 31. 

Southampton ace Virgil van Dijk is on Chelsea's target list but the Dutchman is said to prefer a move to Liverpool. 

And The Times claim Chelsea have inquired about Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld. 

The Belgium international is understood to be one of a number of Spurs players who are unhappy with their financial terms and could be open to a move elsewhere.
