CELTIC star Kieran Tierney has the ability to play for Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, according to Charlie Adam.

Celtic have already got their Scottish Premiership campaign off to a good start, recording three wins from three.

Tierney has played a starring role as he aims to continue his development over in Glasgow.

Many expected the Scotland international to leave his homeland this summer.

Manchester United and Arsenal were both credited with interest amid doubts over the futures of Luke Shaw and Kieran Gibbs.

But, with the duo staying put at their respective clubs, talk of a move to the Premier League has cooled.

He could play for a Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United without a doubt.

However, Adam thinks he would thrive at Old Trafford or Anfield - as well as at Chelsea and Adam’s old club Liverpool.

"Tierney is Scotland’s best player now – he is different to anything else we have got," Adam told the Daily Record.

“After I’d watched Tierney a couple of times I spoke to the people at Stoke about going for him. But unfortunately the figures being mentioned are too big – even for a club like us.

“If you’re talking between £20-25m for a left-back, that’s a lot of money. But I hear people from English clubs talking about him.

"He is the next one who could go to a Premier League club and play regularly.

“He could play for a Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United without a doubt.

Celtic star Kieran Tierney has been told to join the Premier League elite

"His hunger, desire and quality make him the best we have produced for years.

"Brendan Rodgers has done a great job with him at Celtic and the fact he loves the club is a bonus.

“But there will be a time when he takes a chance and wants to go and try the Premier League.

“He could be playing in the Champions League for one of the top clubs and he’s good enough to do it.

“He’s a top player and it won’t be long before he’s down here.”
