Man City 1-1 Everton: Pep Guardiola was not happy with the officials tonight

Both sides had a man sent off at the Etihad with the two decisions leaving the managers furious.

Wayne Rooney gave Everton the lead 10 minutes before half time before Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker was sent off for two yellow card offences before the break.

Despite being a man down, City piled the pressure on the Toffees’ goal in the second half and equalised through a fine Raheem Sterling volley.

Everton then saw Morgan Schneidetrlin sent off after a tackle on Sergio Aguero was adjudged to be worthy of a second yellow by Madley.

Neville, who was commentating on the game for the BBC, says Guardiola is growing increasingly frustrated with referees in the Premier League.

“Pep Guardiola went straight to Bobby Madley and almost sarcastically shook his hand,” Neville said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“He obviously has a beef with the referees in England.

“Man City earned the draw. They were fantastic in the last 25 minutes.

“Pep Guardiola was tactically fantastic - he'll be the happiest of the managers.

“(Everton boss) Ronald Koeman, if he's looking at progressing to the top four, will think they need to come to places like this and get the second goal.”

City will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Bournemouth on Saturday (12.30pm), with Everton hosting Chelsea on Sunday (1.30pm).
