Arsenal News: Alexandre Lacazette is like Ian Wright but must get more service - Goater

ARSENAL summer-signing Alexandre Lacazette is similar to club legend Ian Wright but he must be provided more with more service.

Gerrard impressed with Arsenal's signing of Lacazette

That is the opinion of pundit and former Manchester City striker Shaun Goater.

Lacazette joined Arsenal from French side Lyon in July for a club-record fee of £46.5million.

He scored within two minutes of his Premier League debut against Leicester but has seen chances few and far between since then, apart from having a goal disallowed for offside in the 1-0 loss to Stoke on Saturday.

Goater believes Lacazette is expected to score plenty in this Arsenal team but they must start giving him the ammunition.

It’s an Arsenal team that creates a lot of chances but Alexandre Lacazette hasn’t had a lot of chances

“Lively player, a finisher,” Goater said on Sky Sports of the 26-year-old.

“Left foot, right foot, perhaps heading isn’t his strength but give him the opportunity and he will finish it.

“He’s certainly in a team where you’d expect him to score a lot of goals.

Arsenal News: Alexandre Lacazette must be provided with more chances from team-mates, says Goater

“It’s an Arsenal team that creates a lot of chances but he hasn’t had a lot of chances in his early days at Arsenal.

“But I do like him, he is like Ian Wright. Very much in the same image, a quality player.”

Lacazette has a long way to go to reach the heights of Wright at Arsenal, who is the club’s second leading scorer of all time with 185 goals.

The Frenchman will look for his first away goal for the Gunners when they travel to Merseyside to play Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool on Sunday (4pm).
