ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN may have to leave Arsenal to kickstart his career.

Wenger is 'very happy' Arsenal doesn't have Coutinho situation

Those are the thoughts of Arsenal legend-turned-pundit Ian Wright.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s current contract expires at the end of the season and Arsene Wenger is reluctant to let him leave on a free next summer.

Chelsea have been tracking the England international, with Antonio Conte keen to make more additions to his squad before the transfer window closes on August 31.

And Wright thinks now might be the right time for Oxlade-Chamberlain to quit the Emirates.

“I wouldn’t want Oxlade-Chamberlain to leave,” Wright told Sky Sports.

“But if I’m the Ox, then you’ve got to be thinking about it - he’s been there five years now.

“He’s still not got to where he should be.

“We still don’t know what his best position should be.

“He’s a talented player and he’s got to start kicking on in his career.”
