Arsenal are open to offloading Mustafi just a year into his Gunners career.

Inter are desperate for centre-backs and have identified Germany international Mustafi as their top target.

And Gazzetta dello Sport claim a move for Manchester City’s Mangala is also on the cards.

According to the report, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti is preparing a late splurge in the transfer window.

Inter are yet to match the spending expectations set last year when new Chinese owners took over the club, while their rivals AC Milan have spent over £150million on new players.

Inter want both Mustafi and Mangala but neither deal will be done before the start of next week.

Gazzetta claim a move for Mustafi is more likely, with Arsenal open to a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Negotiations are set to centre on whether or not to make the option to buy a compulsory one come next July.

City are holding out for a permanent sale of Mangala, who Costa them £32m when arriving from Porto in 2014 and who spent last season on loan at Valencia.

But Inter hope that continued talks with the Etihad Stadium club will eventually see a loan agreement struck.
