Transfer News: Man City plan Aubameyang swoop as alternative for Arsenal's Sanchez

MANCHESTER CITY are so determined to sign a striker before Thursday’s transfer deadline they’re ready to give up on Alexis Sanchez to target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

Manchester City could move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before deadline day

Manchester City want to sign Arsenal star Sanchez but have come up against a defiant Gunners.

Arsenal are refusing to sell their star man but they won’t sign a new contract.

City hope a £60million offer will convince the Gunners to sell up.

But French outlet Le 10 Sport claim Pep Guardiola won’t hang around should Arsenal again refuse to do business.

According to the report, City will go for Aubameyang and believe they can prise him away from Borussia Dortmund for £74m (€80m).

Dortmund have already sold Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona in a fee worth over £100m.

Dembele will be presented at Barca on Monday and his arrival supposedly meant Aubameyang would be remaining in the Bundesliga.

But Le 10 Sport claim City will make an offer Dortmund cannot turn down.

Aubameyang has been on top form for Dortmund for the past two seasons.

A proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer was scrapped, as the Ligue 1 side thought he was over-valued.

City have already spent £220m on new players this summer.
