Arsenal transfer news: Kevin De Bruyne backs Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City move

KEVIN DE BRUYNE believes Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez would be a great addition at Manchester City.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with a move for Sanchez in recent weeks and are said to have had a £50million bid turned down yesterday.

Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to return with an improved offer before the window shuts, with Arsenal said to want closer to £70m.

Sanchez has just under a year remaining on his contract at the Gunners and is keen to leave this summer.

And De Bruyne reckons City would benefit from signing the 28-year-old forward.

When asked by Sky Sports News what he thought of the Arsenal forward, the Belgian replied: "He's a very good player, obviously.

“But I don't know what's happening about the other transfers.

"I think City is doing the business perfectly this summer and if they want him they will try everything to get him. And if he comes to us that's a good addition.”

De Bruyne believes a quick deal is better for all parties.

The Belgium international joined City in a £55m deal in the summer of 2015 from Wolfsburg following weeks of speculation.

He added: "A quick transfer is good. If it drags on it can be annoying and I had to wait two or three weeks to join City.

"Every time you go home everyone asks what's happening. You say you're going, then the next day you say you're staying - it can be annoying.

"But everyone needs to be happy, both teams, the players. But when it's over, everyone is relieved."
