Transfer News: Chelsea furious with Liverpool over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain move

But the England international rejected a switch to north London at the last minute as he was holding out for a move to Liverpool.

The Reds then made their move and are now on the verge of completing his transfer after the 24-year-old underwent a medical at St George’s Park last night, where he has been with the England squad preparing for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier in Malta.

And the Mirror claim Chelsea have been left angered by the actions of Liverpool, feeling like they have “been played” by the Anfield club to try and force Arsene Wenger’s side into selling to them.
