Arsenal transfer news: Giroud, Koscielny and Lacazette will not convince Lemar - Balague

ARSENAL’s France stars have tried and failed to convince Thomas Lemar to join the club.

Craig Burley says Thomas Lemar a good fit for Liverpool

That is according to La Liga football expert Guillem Balague.

Arsenal moved for Lemar on the final day of the transfer window and made a reported £92million bid.

And it appears Laurent Koscielny, Oliver Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette did their utmost to persuade Lemar to join but their efforts were rebuffed.

Balague told Sky Sports: “Lemar is with Oliver Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and Alexandre Lacazette right now, with the France national team.

“They will be telling him, banging on this door, getting him to join Arsenal, but he will say no.

Thomas Lemar rejected a move to Arsenal

"He does not want to go.

“What I am hearing is that Arsenal have finished with their business as it stands, which means Alexis stays and Lemar will not join."

The news will come as a major to Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger after they pursued Lermar throughout the summer.

Lemar is now expected to line-up for France against the Netherlands in their World Cup qualifier in Paris tonight.
