Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool from Arsenal for an initial £35million on transfer deadline day.

He left Arsenal in order to gain more first-team opportunities in central midfield, something he was not getting with the Gunners.

However, Manchester United legend Neville does not see how he will break into the front six of Liverpool’s side.

He believes Oxlade-Chamberlain is suited to Jurgen Klopp’s style of play but has plenty of work to do on his game to become a first-team regular.

Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain still needs to improve, says Sky Sports pundit Neville

“What he does do is strengthen the squad. He’s a player who, to be fair, could play in Jurgen Klopp's style.

“He’s got huge talent, he’s a decent lad, but I think he has two or three areas he has to significantly improve.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain could make his Liverpool debut against Manchester City on September 9.

He starts for England in their World Cup qualifier against Malta this evening (7.45pm).
