La Liga News: Man Utd agreed Bale fee with Real Madrid, Di Maria in Barcelona confession

LA LIGA trio Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla are dusting down after a hectic transfer window. Express Sport brings you the latest news.

Gareth Bale almost breaks crossbar in close attempt

Manchester United agreed a fee with Real Madrid for Gareth Bale, according to shock reports in Spain.

The Red Devils spent the summer pursuing the Wales international but he ultimately chose to remain with Zinedine Zidane's side.

But Spanish website Don Balon says United were actually closer to signing Bale than originally thought.

A £92million fee was supposedly agreed between the two teams.

But Bale pulled the plug on the move, deeming a transfer to Old Trafford as ‘too risky' with the Red Devils still hunting a first league title since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013.

Angel Di Maria opened up on his failed move to Barcelona to Lionel Messi.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol.

The PSG star nearly moved to the Nou Camp after Barcelona were informed they had missed out on Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

But he supposedly told Messi he thought the Catalan giants were never serious about signing him.

They reportedly had bids of £22m and £33m rejected by the Ligue 1 side, with PSG then telling Barcelona they would only do business for £73m.

PSG made a last-gasp bid to sign Sevilla star Steven N'Zonzi.

France Football claim they want N’Zonzi to fill the void left by Grzegorz Krychowiak’s move to West Brom.

But Sevilla refused to play ball.

N’Zonzi was also linked with moves to Chelsea and Juventus throughout the summer but ultimately stayed put.
