Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wanted to return to former club Manchester United this summer.

Back in July, it was said the Portugal international was keen to leave Spain after being accused of tax fraud by the authorities.

And the Sunday Times say Ronaldo had his heart set on a return to Old Trafford, despite leaving the Red Devils back in the summer of 2009.

It is said Real were even willing to let the 32-year-old depart because they were confident of signing Kylian Mbappe.

However, Mbappe ended up joining Monaco’s Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain instead, meaning a transfer deal for Ronaldo was off the cards.

Alvaro Morata could ruin Real Madrid’s hopes of landing Manchester United shotstopper David De Gea.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Diario Madridista.

It is said the two clubs have a strained transfer relationship - and Morata is to blame for it.

The Red Devils wanted to sign the Spain international but Real were tricky negotiators and ultimately priced him out of a move.

And, as a result of that failed transfer, Jose Mourinho could refuse to let De Gea move to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid News: Alvaro Morata could have ruined Los Blancos' David De Gea dream

Tottenham star Dele Alli wanted to join Real Madrid or Barcelona this summer, it has been claimed.

Don Balon say the England international was keen on a move to La Liga.

Yet he ended the summer disappointed because neither of the two European heavyweights came in for him.

Tottenham will supposedly demand £137million from clubs aiming to sign the former MK Dons star in the future.
