Dele Alli finger: Arsenal legend Ray Parlour reveals when he told referee to ‘F off’

ARSENAL legend Ray Parlour has revealed a moment he swore at a referee amid controversy over England star Dele Alli.

Ray Parlour admits he has sworn at a referee before

Alli was caught on camera giving a middle finger gesture to someone during England’s 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over Slovakia last night.

It was claimed the Tottenham man aimed it towards referee Clement Turpin after he did not give him a free kick after a coming together with Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel.

Alli has since said the intended destination was England, and former Tottenham, team-mate Kyle Walker, who was on the field at the time.

Parlour says he used to swear at referees during his playing career.

He picked out one particular moment when he was sent off in a 3-1 home defeat to Newcastle in 2001 during his Arsenal days.

“Yes absolutely (I used to swear at the referee),” Parlour said on talkSPORT.

“They would swear back at you sometimes.

“I got sent off in the first half once and I was going crazy, Graham Poll. No (I didn’t deserve it), it was a good tackle.

“At the time we were playing Newcastle, Alan Shearer it was on.

“He got up straight away and said ‘no he got the ball’.

“That was when you got really angry because even a player you tackled is more or less sticking up for you.

“F off Graham, I will be in your room at half time!”

England's 2-1 win over Slovakia means they are just two points away from securing a place at Russia 2018.
