Chelsea news: Juventus plot January bid for Blues winger Pedro - report

JUVENTUS are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea winger Pedro.

Pedro was crucial as Chelsea stormed to the Premier League title last season following a disappointing debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists in his 43 appearances last term.

And according to The Guardian, Pedro’s appearances for the Blues have caught the attention of Serie A champions Juventus.

Max Allegri’s side are reportedly planning to make a move for the 30-year-old winger when the transfer window reopens in January.

Pedro signed for Chelsea from Barcelona in a £19million deal in the summer of 2015, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.

He failed to impress in his first season under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink as Chelsea fell to a 10th-place finish but has since become a key player for Antonio Conte.

Pedro was suspended for Chelsea’s opening day defeat to Burnley, but came off the bench to set up the winner against Tottenham and started in the win over Everton last time out.

His Chelsea and Spain team-mate Diego Costa was linked with a short-term loan move to Fenerbahce ahead of Turkey’s transfer deadline tonight.

But Fenerbahce boss Aykut Kocaman said last night: “We were really close to sign Diego Costa but now we seem far away.”
