Burley has not held back in his criticism of Wenger during Arsenal’s plight in recent years.
The French manager signed a new contract at the end of last season despite large sections of support calling for his exit.
Arsenal finished outside the Premier League top four for the first time under Wenger and therefore missed out on Champions League qualification.
This campaign has started in the same vein as the last, with disappointing defeats away to Stoke and Liverpool.

And Burley says Arsene Wenger should have left in May but his arrogance made him sign an extension.
“I can’t believe for the life of me why we’re having this discussion again,” Burley said on ESPN FC.
“We’re having the same discussion about a guy whose arrogant, how can he not have seen over the last few years it was time to step aside?
“He even mentioned it in newspaper articles ‘well I thought about quitting’.
