Chelsea signed Davide Zappacosta for £27.6m on deadline day
Zappacosta was a deadline day arrival from Torino as Chelsea left it late to complete their transfer business.
The wing-back cost the Blues £27.6million (€30m), a fee many in Italy believe was highly inflated by the timing of the deal.
Zappacosta appeared to have lost his place in the Torino side as they changed to a flat back four at the start of the Serie A season.
And Conte admits the Italy international, who earned his first call up to the Azzurri when Conte was in charge, has work to do.
“He is a good player, a young player,” Conte said ahead of today’s clash with Leicester (3pm).

“He can improve. He is a wing back, sometimes he can play on the left.
“He is ready and you will see very soon his performance. This is a great chance, he arrives in a great club and can go into this club with the right mentality.
“Torino is a good team with a great history. There is good pressure there, but to play in another country is not easy.
