Isco contract

12:27: Real Madrid midfielder Isco will reject interest from Manchester United and Tottenham to sign a new contract in Spain.

The Sun claim both Manchester United and Tottenham are keen to get their hands on the Spain international, whose contract expires next summer.

But Real president Florentino Perez insists the player will sign fresh terms.

“Isco arrived here when he was very young and all he has done is improve,” Perez told radio station Cadena SER.

“He is currently playing as we believed he would turn out.

“We will be announcing his contract renewal in the coming days, a renewal which is a done deal.”

Modric and Navas rested

09.20: Luka Modric and Keylor Navas are missing for Real Madrid’s clash with Levante.

Modric and Navas are both being rested after the international break and with Champions League coming up this week.

Madrid’s squad:

Goalkeepers: Casilla, Luca

Defenders: Carvajal, Vallejo, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo, Theo

Midfielders: Kroos, Casemiro, Llorente, Asensio, Isco, Kovacic, Ceballos

Forwards: Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vazquez

David de Gea belief

06:15: Real Madrid reportedly feel they will sign David De Gea from Manchester United next summer.

Real Madrid nearly signed De Gea from Manchester United in the summer of 2015, only for a faulty fax machine to scupper the deal.

Talk was rife they would attempt to sign him this summer, but Manchester United look to have held on to De Gea for at least another 12 months.

But Spanish outlet Diario Gol says Real feel they will finally land their chief target at the end of the current campaign.

It is said club president Florentino Perez is confident the goalkeeper will leave United.

Neymar Bernabeu dream

05:45: Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has set his sights on joining Real Madrid after his time at the Parc des Princes, reports claim.

The Brazil international only signed from Unai Emery’s side from Barcelona last month.

Yet Diario Gol claim he already harbours hopes of signing for Los Blancos.

He supposedly has a secret clause in his contract that will force PSG to accept any bid from Zinedine Zidane’s side.

And Real are also keen to sign the player and view him as the perfect replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is approaching the final stages of his career.

Zinedine Zidane revelation

05:15: Former Manchester United chief-executive Martin Edwards has claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson turned down the chance to sign Zidane because a move for the Frenchman would have upset Manchester United hero Cantona.

“Zidane and Eric played in the same position and Alex felt if they brought Zidane in it would have upset Eric,” Edwards told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“In hindsight yes [it’s a regret], because Eric retired a year later and Zidane was younger so he would have continued it.”
