Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain begins training with Liverpool

Oxlade-Chamberlain left Arsenal for Liverpool in a £35million deal after six years at the Emirates.

The England international was not able to solidify a position in Arsene Wenger’s starting XI.

Carragher says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will give Oxlade-Chamberlain game time, but says his game must go up to a new level.

“He will play because Jurgen Klopp will change his team this season,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.

Liverpool news: Alex Oxlade Chamberlain must go up a level, says Carragher

At this moment I don’t know what position he plays, I don’t know what his real big strengths are

Jamie Carragher on Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

“The big thing I should say, I’ve got great admiration for him for making the decision, not because he came to Liverpool

“I’ve said for too long, Kieran Gibbs who just moved now, (Theo) Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain seemed to be coasting (at Arsenal).

“When you’re in the comfort zone I think you’ve got to look at yourself and get yourself out of the comfort zone.

“Big admiration for him for making the move. At this moment I don’t know what position he plays, I don’t know what his real big strengths are.
