Arsenal news: Alexis Sanchez heartbroken over Man City transfer collapse - Claudio Bravo

ALEXIS SANCHEZ went from happiness to bitterness after his deadline day transfer to Manchester City collapsed.

Wenger confident of Sanchez commitment this season

That is according to City keeper and Chilean team-mate Claudio Bravo, who has spent time with the 28-year-old on international duty.

Pep Guardiola was keen on making Alexis Sanchez his most expensive player this summer after submitting a £60m bid.

However, a move fell through after Arsenal failed to agree terms with Monaco’s Thomas Lemar meaning the Gunners pulled out of a deal with no replacement.

Bravo indicated that Sanchez had his heart set on a reunion with his former boss Guardiola.

He said: ”He went from happiness to bitterness in a few hours, although it's all in the past now.

"The transfer didn't happen because a player didn't go to Arsenal and everything collapsed.

But the City stopper did not rule out a move in the future and suggested his club could make a move soon.

Sanchez is a free agent in the summer with his contract up and the likelihood of him signing a new deal looks slim.

"This time it was not possible, but hopefully we will have him here in the future,” Bravo said.
