Hererra contract talks

21:50: Ander Herrera has opened contract talks with Manchester United and is determined to fight for his place, according to reports.

Herrera was a standout player for United last season and was the first name on Jose Mourinho’s team sheet.

However, this term it is all change for the Spain international who has grown accustomed to life on the bench following the arrival of Nemanja Matic.

However, The Sun on Sunday claim Herrera is not ready to quit Old Trafford just yet - despite being in the final year of his contract - and has opened contract talks.

Wenger thinks Mbappe is next Pele

19:22: Arsene Wenger has revealed he tells his friends Kylian Mbappe will be the next Pele.

"I think he is exceptionally intelligent, he has an exceptional character, and exceptional belief," Wenger told bein SPORTS.

"I say to my friends, 'Mbappe is the new Pele'.

"He can become the best player in the world, because he as well has the charisma, the character, the belief.

"You never think you're speaking to an 18-year-old when you speak to him.

"He always gives you the impression when he gets the ball that something special can happen."

Costa moves family to Madrid

18:57: Diego Costa has moved his family to Madrid in anticipation of his transfer to Atletico in January.

Costa is currently AWOL in Brazil and is refusing to return to Chelsea.

The Blues continue to fine him each week that he doesn’t return to west London.

But it appears Costa has no plans to head back to the capital after moving his family back to Spain.

The Sun on Sunday claim his family are now in Madrid after leaving his base in Oxshott, Surrey.

Arsenal agree Lemar deal claim

17:55: Arsenal have reportedly agreed a deal in principle to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco in January.

The Daily Star claims the 21-year-old France midfielder will sign a five-year deal worth £250,000 a week.

Arsene Wenger has apparently told associates the Lemar deal does not hinge on Alexis Sanchez being sold in the New Year.

Sanchez was set to join Manchester City on deadline day until Arsenal pulled the plug after they fell short of his £60m price-tag.

Coutinho furious with Barca

16:40: Philippe Coutinho is furious with Barcelona’s board after they promised they would get him out of Liverpool this summer.

Coutinho was subjected to three bids from Barcelona but Liverpool refused to sell.

The Reds rejected a final £118m offer for their star player even though he had handed in a transfer request.

And according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Coutinho is fuming with Barca for not sticking to their word and signing him.

Barca claimed Liverpool were demanding £183m to let Coutinho go - a suggestion the Premier League club deny.

United’s Griezmann plan

15:30: Manchester United have left their No7 shirt free for a major signing – with Antoine Griezmann their top target.

The Daily Star on Sunday claim United have put aside £100m for their new face and want Atletico Madrid star Griezmann.

The 26-year-old snubbed a move to Old Trafford to stay in Spain with Atletico this season.

But Jose Mourinho still wants Griezmann with United leaving their fabled No7 shirt - worn by legends George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo - currently vacant.
