Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho on Marouane Fellaini - He’s a player with special qualities

JOSE MOURINHO has once again reiterated how important Marouane Fellaini is to Manchester United.

Louis Saha predicts who will win the Champions League

Manchester United cruised past Swiss champions Basel with a comfortable 3-0 win in their Champions League opener at Old Trafford.

Fellaini, 29, netted the Red Devils’ first goal on 35 minutes after he got onto the end of Ashley Young’s inviting cross.

Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford finished off Basel in the second half with clinical finishes.

But the boss was quick to heap individual praise on Fellaini for his exploits.

Mourinho claimed he felt ‘weaker’ without the Belgium international in his team following their 2-2 draw with Stoke last weekend.

He also expressed how important he was to his team going forward as he is a player he needs in his team.

And the former Everton defensive midfielder has once again been lauded by Mourinho after putting in an impressive performance on his return.

"I keep saying the same about Fellaini,” said.
