Manchester United star Paul Pogba's injury is one of the big stories on today's back pages

Chelsea and Manchester United celebrated their return to the Champions League with victories over Qarabag and Basel respectively.

New signing Davide Zappacosta dominates the majority of today’s back pages after scoring an outrageous goal during the Blues’ 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini’s celebrations are also given plenty of space after they were both on target in the Red Devils’ 3-0 victory over their Swiss opponents – Marcus Rashford also hit the back of the net on his Champions League debut.

It’s not all rosy for Manchester United though, with The Sun claiming Paul Pogba’s hamstring injury could keep him out of the clash with Everton this weekend.

Meanwhile, Express Sport report that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knew appealing the length of Sadio Mane’s ban was “a waste of time”.

Mane was given a three-match ban after being shown a straight red card for a high foot on Ederson during the Reds’ 5-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, with the sanction being officially upheld yesterday.

Finally, Roy Hodgson has returned to management with Crystal Palace, taking over from Frank De Boer who was sacked after just 77 days.
