Manchester United and three Italian clubs want to sign Mirko Antonucci

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has already said he is unlikely to sign new players in January, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to be fit by the New Year.

Planning for the summer of 2018 is underway, however, and Antonucci is on the boss’ radar.

That is according to Transfermarketweb, who claim United are among four clubs interested in the 18-year-old.

Antonucci, not to be confused with former Leeds United player Mirco Antenucci, is one of Roma’s hottest young talents.

The Italy youth international is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Rome club.

Transfermarketweb claim Inter Milan, AC Milan and Lazio are all eyeing the player.

United could open contract talks with Antonucci in January, with a free transfer in mind for the summer.

They would have to pay Roma a compensation fee as he is under the age of 24.

Roma want him to sign a new contract in the hope of keeping their academy product in the Italian capital.

But he is likely to earn a far greater wage were he to quit Italy for the Premier League.
