CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte has recalled the time he was involved in a terrorist attack in light of the Parsons Green explosion today.

An explosion at Parsons Green underground station has been deemed a terrorist attack as commuters were forced to run for their lives.

And Chelsea boss Conte has opened up about the time he himself was involved in an incident - during his time as as manager of Italy.

“All our thoughts are with the people affected by the issue on the tube today,” he said. 

“For sure this incident is very dangerous and your mind goes on the situation. 

“We have to try to think only to play the game. This is the best way. 

“I remember when I was a coach on the national team and the terrorist attack. We stayed with the national team and we had to play against Belgium. 

“In this case it is important to continue. For sure there is a great disappointment, it is very difficult to understand why. 

“We have to continue to show that we are stronger than them.”

A Metropolition Police statement said: “Police were called at approximately 08:20hrs on Friday, 15 September to Parsons Green Underground Station following reports of a fire on the train.

Parsons Green Terror Attack: Antonio Conte has called for unity

“Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the senior national coordinator for CT policing, has declared it a terrorist incident.

“Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service and British Transport Police attended the scene, along with colleagues from the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service.

“At present we are aware of a number of people who have suffered injuries.

“It is too early to confirm the cause of the fire, which will be subject to the investigation that is now underway by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.

“The station remains cordoned off and we are advising people to avoid the area.”
