PREMIER LEAGUE LIVE UPDATES: All the action from the 3pm games

That's all from us after busy afternoon full of goals.

Follow our LIVE blog of the late kick-off Tottenham v Swansea here.

17:10: Watford boss Marco Silva: "We know it will be a tough day to compete at this level but City are strong enough to create problems for us.

"The first and third goals are offside, it is not a normal game. We had a clear penalty for Chalobah. Everything is difficult for us this afternoon.

"City deserved the three points, we learn as a team. We can't make mistakes. But it's really difficult with these decisions."

17:06: Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope: "We were really resilient and defended really well.

"Right from the front we chased every ball, got together and stuck at it, I think we deserved it in the end."

17:03: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero: "I am very happy and I will continue to work as it goes on. I am focused on scoring the next goal but what matters is that we won."

Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan: "I don't know if it was perfect but after a tough week with a lot of travelling it was impressive and absolutely deserved. The way we played was amazing. Sergio is a goal machine, his last goal was incredible. It showed all his ability."

17:00: Newcastle hero Jamaal Lascelles says: "Ultimately it's three wins and we're really pleased, but today it could have been three, four, five goals. We had a lot of chances and it was a great intensity from the boys from the start.

"We won't get too complacent."

16:55: A breathless afternoon of Premier League football. Post-match reaction to come...

FT WEST BROM 0-0 WEST HAM

FT LIVERPOOL 1-1 BURNLEY

FT HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 LEICESTER

FT NEWCASTLE 2-1 STOKE

FT WATFORD 0-6 MAN CITY

16:48: Demarai Gray goes down in the box but the ref says no penalty.

WATFORD 0-6 MAN CITY

16:45: Kabasele trips Sterling in the box and the England ace steps up and finishes it himself.

GOAL MAN CITY

16:43: SAVE POPE. The Burnley keeper is having a worldie game. First he saves an Alexander-Arnold volley.

Then moments later Solanke hits the crossbar from yards out.

16:40: Chance BURNLEY. From a corner Ben Mee’s header at the far post is cleared off the line by Joel Matip.

Then Mee is denied again this time by a brilliant save from Mignolet.

WATFORD 0-5 MAN CITY

16:38: Aguero HAT-TRICK. He is class! It’s his sixth Premier League hat-trick - only Shearer (11), Fowler (9), Owen and Henry (8) have scored more.

GOAL MAN CITY

16:37: Burnley relieve some of the pressure as Brady stings the gloves of Mignolet following a quick counter by the Clarets.

Double change at Anfield with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Solanke replacing Firmino and Milner.

16:32: Raheem Sterling nearly gets his name on the scoresheet but his low effort drifts wide of the far post.

16:29: Big chance for Leicester. Mahrez cuts in on his left and hits a shot towards the far post but Vardy fails to get a touch despite being three yards out.

16:28: Ben Foster is a lucky boy. The West Brom keeper races out of his goal and takes out Javier Hernandez with a high foot.

But he is only booked. Slaven Bilic is fuming.

NEWCASTLE 2-1 STOKE

16:24: He scored last week and he’s done it again for Newcastle. Matt Ritchie swings in a corner from the right and captain Jamaal Lascelles rises highest to head the ball in off the crossbar!

WATFORD 0-4 MAN CITY

16:21: It's another one for City as David Silva delivers the cross inside the box and Nicolas Otamendi heads home powerfully

GOAL MAN CITY

16:20: Goal disallowed at Huddersfield as Kachunga has the ball in the net but the offside flag goes up.

16:19: Our man at Newcastle, Ian Murtagh says:

Another one from the Shaqiri collection.

The Swiss pocket dynamo doesn't score ordinary goals - they're invariably belters.

And his 57th minute equaliser is no different, a 25 yard drive into the bottom corner of the net.

Question marks against Toon keeper Rob Elliot, however.  He may feel as if he should have kept that one out.

16:17: Coutinho and then Sturridge are the latest to test Hope. Surely a Liverpool goal is coming…

NEWCASTLE 1-1 STOKE

16:14: Newcastle failure to get a second has cost as Shaqiri spots a gap in the bottom left corner and bends the ball expertly beyond Rob Elliot.

GOAL STOKE

16:12: Liverpool are really on top at Anfield and this time Coutinho drives the ball over the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area.

At the Hawthorns, West Ham’s Jose Fonte gets up really well to meet Aaron Cresswell's corner, but glances his header wide.

16:10: Our man at Newcastle, Ian Murtagh says:

It's certainly not been Joselu's day so far. After missing two chances in the first half, he fluffs another just 15 seconds into the restart - and it's the best of the lot.

Atsu finds him just inside the penalty area but from 18 yards and with just Butland to beat, he fires his effort over the bar.

We've now got blue skies over St James' s Park after heavy rain half an hour ago.

The sun really is shining for Rafa's boys right now.

HUDDERSFIELD 1-1 LEICESTER

16:07: Andy King is brought down inside the box and from the penalty spot Jamie Vardy thrashes the ball home to bring the Foxes swiftly level

GOAL LEICESTER

16:05: On his first start of the season, Sturridge is not too far away with an attempt to dink one over the goalkeeper from 20 yards.

HUDDERSFIELD 1-0 LEICESTER

16:03: Huddersfield take the lead as Laurent Depoitre rolls Maguire and finds the bottom corner within the first 60 seconds of the second half

GOAL HUDDERSFIELD

16:02: Newcastle start on the front foot again as Atsu picks out Joselu but the former Stoke man steers his shot over the bar.

SECOND HALF KICK OFF

15:55: As it stands Manchester City will be top of the table, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle rounding out the top four.

15:48: It has been a breathless first-half but here are all the scores...

Huddersfield 0-0 Leicester

Liverpool 1-1 Burnley

West Brom 0-0 West Ham

Watford 0-3 Manchester City

Newcastle 1-0 Stoke

HALF-TIME

15:43: Chance for West Brom. Good work by Matt Phillips to get to the byline and his clipped cross is perfect for James Morrison, but he fails to connect with a header.

15:41: At Huddersfield, Riyad Mahrez curls a tame free-kick straight into the top of the wall.

WATFORD 0-3 MAN CITY

15:38: Incredible stuff from City as they go 3-0 in front when Gabriel Jesus clips the ball smartly into the far corner from Aguero's through ball.

GOAL MAN CITY

15:36: Our man at Newcastle, Ian Murtagh says:

Joselu would love to score against his former club and the Toon striker has already had two chances to rub Mark Hughes' nose in it.

He failed to find the target after a sweeping long ball from Mbemba.

And then in the 34th minute, Butland foiled him after Yedlin's deflected shot fell into his path.

Newcastle have been excellent since Atsu's goal and could be out of sight by now.

15:34: Big save from Jack Butland to deny Newcastle a second. Joselu gets onto the end of a deflected Yedlin shot but he can't beat the Stoke stopper.

Mohamed SalahReuters

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah celebrates scoring

WATFORD 0-2 MAN CITY

15:31: Aguero gets his eighth goal in five goals when he taps in at far post. City are rampant.

GOAL MAN CITY

LIVERPOOL 1-1 BURNLEY

15:30: Liverpool produce an instant response to Burnley’s goal as Salah controls Can's knock forward and drives one past Pope

GOAL LIVERPOOL

WATFORD 0-1 MAN CITY

15:28: Stunning delivery by Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero heads home

GOAL MAN CITY

LIVERPOOL 0-1 BURNLEY

15:26: Terrible defending by Liverpool allows Scott Arfield to side-foot home

GOAL BURNLEY

Our man at Newcastle, Ian Murtagh says:

An inspired selection by Benitez!

After being left out at Swansea last Sunday, Atsu justifies his recall with the opening goal at St James' Park - and what a fine team goal it was.

Newcastle move play from left to right, Atsu ghosts in behind Zouma and volleys in at the far post.

It had been a fairly even contest in the opening stages but that goal has really lifted the Geordies who are pushing for No.2

NEWCASTLE 1-0 STOKE

15:19: Newcastle take the lead against Stoke when Matt Ritchie's perfect ball is met at the back post by Christian Atsu.

GOAL NEWCASTLE

15:16: Penalty appeal by Liverpool after Salah tumbles in the box but it is waved away.

15:13: Pablo Zabaleta welcomes West Brom midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak to the Premier League with a strong challenge.

Too strong for the referee though, who books the Argentine defender.

15:12: Raheem Sterling’s finishing isn’t his strength and it lets him down today at he completely mis-kicks after a fabulous De Bruyne pass.

15:08: Another effort on goal for Liverpool but Alexander-Arnold flashes a shot from distance well wide

15:06: Daniel Sturridge tests Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope with a low shot at Anfield.

While at City knock on the Watford door again with Fernandinho nodding off-target following Kevin De Bruyne's corner.

15:01: Early chance for Manchester City as they cut Watford open inside the first 10 seconds.

Raheem Sterling's low cross finds David Silva, but his shot is blocked.

15:00: KICK OFF

Sergio AgueroReuters

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero celebrates scoring with his team mates

14:55: FIVE minutes till kick-off...

14:40: Congratulations to Gareth Barry, who will equal Ryan Giggs’ record of most PL appearances (632) and also becomes the 1st player to start 600 PL games.

632 – Gareth Barry

632 – Ryan Giggs

609 – Frank Lampard

572 – David James

535 – Gary Speed

14:30: In the lunchtime match, Crystal Palace became the 1st top division team in history to start a season with five defeats and no goals after losing 1-0 to Southampton

14:15: Our man at Newcastle, Ian Murtagh says:

However many goals Newcastle score today, the loudest noise at St James' Park today is likely to come at around 2.58pm when Rafa Benitez returns to the dug-out after his recent convalescence.

The Newcastle boss used his programme notes to thank the hundreds of fans who sent him get-well messages while he was away.

But the best tonic for Benitez would be a third successive win for the resurgent Magpies.

Despite their improved form, the Toon chief makes three changes from the side which won at Swansea with fit-again DeAndre Yedlin coming in for his first game of the season. There are also recalls for Chancel Mbemba and Christian Atsu.

Just one change for Stoke - Bruno Martins Indi replacing Geoff Cameron.

And whatever the result, there will be handshakes between Mark Hughes and Benitez. The two of them get along well unlike the Stoke boss and a certain Jose Mourinho.
